Greenhouse Gas Reporting

Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting (SECR)

We help organisations comply with Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) by auditing and reporting on the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

SECR is a legal requirement for all large UK companies to disclose their energy and carbon emissions within their Annual Director’s Report, or separate sustainability report. Large undertakings under SECR are defined as meeting at least two of the following three criteria: (turnover exceeding £36m; balance sheet exceeding  £18m; 250 or more employees)

Furthermore, quoted companies of any size, listed on a major stock exchange, and incorporated in the United Kingdom must also report their global energy and GHG emissions.

PPN006 Carbon Reduction Plans

It is a requirement to have a Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) for all major public sector contracts.

Under Procurement Policy Note PPN06/21 (now PPN006) any company bidding for a UK central government contract exceeding £5million annually, or for NHS procurement needs to report their current GHG emissions and an actionable plan to achieve Net-Zero by 2050, at the latest.

In practice, the scope of CRPs extends beyond this, with many principal contractors and service providers with government contracts expecting their supply chains to report the same carbon data. CRPs are also increasingly being utilized by local authorities. Antea Group’s expert carbon consultants can help ensure your GHG reporting and decarbonization plans are robust and credible
