• About Me in 140 Characters: A resourceful Health and Safety professional with valuable experience gained in high-risk environments, motivated by challenging roles, gaining great satisfaction and self-fulfilment from achieving both practical and personal goals, whilst, never losing sight of a client’s needs.

Favorite Thing about Being a Health and Safety Practitioner:
No two days are the same, I love the variety in my daily tasks. Its so enjoyable working with companies in different industries, providing a great deal of variety from one contract to the next. I also enjoy seeing clients compliance performance change and develop throughout the relationship.

What is the most interesting project you’ve ever worked on?
I was asked to help develop a clients EHS induction program, however this was not your standard induction checklist, it involved consulting on the content of a virtual guide of safety features within the premises, which included everything from a full premises tour, to checking fire panels and physically demonstrating how to use a fire extinguisher! Very fun! 

What are some of your favorite tools/resources for professional development in this practice area?
Team collaboration! If you have a solid team around you, you can bounce ideas off each other, ask peoples opinion and most importantly explore new ways to develop yourself by tapping in to team competencies, past careers and experiences. 

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Team development, knowing that there’s a whole new generation of health and safety professionals eager to learn and develop themselves, and where I can offer my services to help them do this, this is my favorite part of the job.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Lifeguard and swimming teacher! And I did this for 10 years! 

What historical or fictional character would you most like to work with?
Tony Stark, great business man and part time superhero! He might even let me wear the suit…

What is on the top of your bucket list?
Take my family to Australia to see the animals (and my family down under!)
